This past Sunday our young church continued its growth and strenghtnening in the Spirit. After several weeks of training and preparation, Tom Dettman was appointed an elder of Grace Life Church. What a great day that was! It's really exciting to see how God works in people like Tom to use them to serve the Body of Christ. We were in need of another elder and God gave us one in Tom. Now, our leadership team has been strengthened and God has put us in a position to more effectively minister to the saints at our church. All praise to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Wow - we just celebrated one year as a church! It went by so fast! All praise to our God for starting Grace Life Church and the impact we've already had in our community this past year. It's been really exciting for me to see how the powerful gospel of grace has transformed lives at our church and knowing that it transforms lives wherever it's clearly proclaimed. Jesus Christ is truly all that we need! One of the benefits of pastoring a small church is seeing in a very personal way the focus our people have on understanding and living out the grace life. It's a real joy for all of us! I also want to thank all the people who've prayed for us. I consider it a great honor and privilege to serve the Lord as the pastor of Grace Life Church. I'm humbled that He has led me to serve Him in this way. We're on an exciting spiritual journey and we can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do through us in the next year and the years to come!

We are so thankful to our God for how He's opening the eyes and hearts of the saints at our church to the amazing gospel of His grace. What's wonderful about serving in ministry is that if you really trust in the Lord to transform lives as He promises to do, you're in a wonderful position to actually see Him do it! That's really exciting! No struggling, no striving, and no religious laws or rules to keep is required. Resting in Jesus Christ in us and what He has done for us and allowing Him to live His life through us is the key to living a victorious Christian life. All praise to Him!

We are so thankful to the Lord for getting Grace Life Church off to a solid start! The message of God's grace is now being proclaimed boldly in our community! The Lord has given us a great facility to meet at (the Sycamore Theatre) and we now have several families who attend the church regularly. Not only that, I've been praying for God to give us a leadership team to work with me in leading the church, and now we have one! I thank God for Tom Dettman and Dave Wellendorf in joining this exciting ministry. Both men have ministry leadership experience and Dave has served the Lord as the lead pastor at a church in Iowa. Thank you God for your amazing provision for our new church!

What an exciting day! After more than three years of waiting and preparation, today was the first service for Grace Life Church! It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a wonderful gathering! People attended who really have a hunger for the gospel of grace. We are so pleased that God is using us to minister to them and all the people who will come to our church. I really look forward to seeing how God is going to work in our church in the years to come. I thank Him for how He has blessed me and my family in Christ!

What an exciting day this was for our grace ministry! As I was driving back to my office from a trip to Wheaton, I saw an amazing and unusual sunset. In fact, my brother Gary who was visiting from California called me while I was enjoying the beauty of it to tell me that he was also marveling at the sunset from my sister's house in St. Charles! Even more amazing than the great sunset was that this was also the same day that the Spirit clearly directed me to start moving forward with plans to start Grace Life Church! The fact that God is leading me to start this church much sooner than I thought it would happen caught me by surprise - but it was a great surprise! We praise God for what He's doing!
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matt. 11:28-30
